My name is Tania and I’m a photographer. I’m also a mother, wife and lover of Nature. My ideal day would be spending the day outdoors with my family, camera, hiking up a mountain, dog by our sides. But, I live in PA and we have crap weather. I dream of living in the Pacific Northwest where the temps are ideal year-round, and the ocean and mountains are just a drive away. I’ll get there someday.
I love black and white photography. I started the old-school way – developing film in a darkroom, slaving under an enlarger, and watching magic happen as my image came to life on a piece of paper. I spent hours in the dark and felt at home there. Walking the halls of school and smelling the developing chemicals was comforting. Even though I use digital now, I tend to process in black and white. When I compose an image, I’m looking at the light and thinking of how it will feel without color. Stripping the color from a photo makes it raw and naked. One is forced to see it for what it is.
This blog is a place where I will showcase my personal work. It’s not that often I do things for me, however I plan to change that. I am my biggest critic and feel the more I do little projects of my own, the more I will push myself and grow. Both as a photographer and a person. I hope you enjoy looking at my work as much as I enjoy making it.
